Design and Technology

The National Curriculum for design and technology has four strands in which children:
  • Develop, plan and communicate ideas
  • Work with tools, equipment and components
  • Acquire a knowledge of materials
  • Evaluate processes and products.

At St. Patrick’s Primary School we teach Design and Technology to equip our children with the understanding and skills needed to become future citizens in an increasingly technological world.

Our curriculum offers the opportunity to experience the processes and materials of technology.

Through different design projects, we teach our children to think and intervene creatively, combining knowledge and understanding, as well as aesthetics and function.
